Steve posted an article on his company’s website yesterday about the music biz. It’s a good read and simplifies, in typical Jobs style (for better or worse), the current problems with music distribution. All those following the RIAA and related mp3 sharing dramas should take a looksy. It appears to be a very diplomatic call to arms against the big 4 music publishers.

Update: The RIAA has responded with a statment which looks like they didn’t read what Jobs said. I wonder if they thought it would be funny, or are they really that dumb:

Apple’s offer to license Fairplay to other technology companies is a welcome breakthrough and would be a real victory for fans, artists and labels. There have been many services seeking a license to the Apple DRM. This would enable the interoperability that we have been urging for a very long time.
