Champaner is a world heritage site outside of Baroda. It’s way out in the middle of nowhere, so Google Maps doesn’t even know about it. But as you can see, I found it on the satellite view. It’s a Hindu Temple at the top of a volcano in the center of a desert. So there’s very little around except for remote villages. It was a really friendly place though, and it was worth stopping at, despite how far it was from the conveniences from the usual tourist circuit. Enjoy the photos. The holy lake really is that green and the shanty houses really do have satellite tv. I can only guess where all the shoes came from, but you take them off to go inside the temple. |
