Jaipur is known for it’s old city, known as the pink city. All of the buildings in the old part of the city are painted a light brick color. It wasn’t too impressive. I didn’t get to see many sites though because, on my way into the old city, a local guy about my age started up a conversation. He asked me about where I was from, why I was there, etc. It was the usual small talk that the touts give before they try to swindle you out of lots of money, but he seemed to be honest, so I kept chatting with him. We had some tea together and I met a few of his friends. In hindsight (and at the time) it was a little reckless, but I rode with them on their motorcycle back to their house to hang out before a party. We ended up going to a rooftop bbq and chatting for hours.

Over the next few days I rode with them to a wedding, a very cheesy Indian night club, an uncle’s elephant farm, the monkey temple (which was full of 1000’s of monkeys!), and had some bespoke clothes made. It was one of the best experiences of the trip. Enjoy the photos and a movie of what it was like riding around Jaipur:
